Meet Your Crew
Captain James Gordon
Captain James was raised on sailing among Canada’s freshwater lakes. He suffered a severe case of wanderlust from an early age and always looked for opportunities to combine work with his love for adventure and travel. Teaching skiing in Japan, diving the Great Barrier Reef, or guiding expeditions to Antarctica became ‘another day at the office’. James is a former instructor with the Canadian Yachting Association, an RYA Yacht Master Offshore captain and just celebrated his 25th anniversary as a PADI scuba instructor. With over 5 years' experience in the British Virgin Islands, James knows every inch of this paradise, both on and below the waves.
James also had a 20+ year career in hospitality and tourism, including operating his own restaurant in Ontario. With his experience in hospitality and as captain and crew in various locations around the world, James has the knowledge to approach charters with high standards of care and safety. He is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to upholding the highest standards of maritime excellence.
Chef Jody Oles
Chef Jody is a native Californian but has loved chartering in the islands for the last 20 years. She holds a US Coast Guard Masters License, and is a PADI Scuba Instructor, as well as an accomplished charter chef. Her passion for beautiful food equals her passion for the ocean. Before moving to the islands, Jody was an educator for several zoos and aquariums on each coast. She fell in love with the Caribbean waters working as an Aquarist at Coral World Marine Park in St Thomas. Her knowledge of marine life gives her guests an experience they won't forget! From the galley, her fresh breads, pastries, decadent desserts, and everything in between will present you with an array of goodies to tempt your taste buds. Her culinary style incorporates fresh local ingredients with culinary favorites for amazing meals that guests love. Jody plans weekly charter menus in collaborations with charter guests to ensure any unique dietary requirements, restrictions or preferences attended to with the highest priority.
Stewardess Jadine Law
Jadine grew up in a quaint town near Johannesburg, South Africa where she spent weekends boating and doing water sports. She also spent many fun times in the Seychelles where she developed a love of the sea – snorkeling, deep sea fishing, and exploring the islands’ breathtaking beaches. Jadine now holds her personal watercraft licenses as well as the RYA powerboat level 2 license and is eager to lend a hand with all on board water sport activities.
During her school years, she danced competitively for four years. Her dedication to the sport and its long and demanding hours gave her self-discipline, a great work ethic, and taught her the value of teamwork, which she carries into all aspects of her life.
Jadine attended the Super Yacht Training Academy in Cape Town South Africa, completing both Stewardess and Deck Hand components. During the Bartender and Barista course she discovered her passion for mixology and looks forward to sharing her creative cocktails with guests! She is friendly, hard-working, and eager to be successful in her chosen field.
She looks forward to meeting guests onboard SEVEN and making their stay a memorable and enjoyable one.

Wow! What a wonderful way to spend a week! Sailing the BVI aboard SEVEN surpassed even my loftiest expectations! Not only is SEVEN an absolutely beautiful ship both inside and out, but the charter comes equipped with very nice scuba gear, fun water toys, and fishing equipment. During our sailing, we caught some tuna that ended up as an amazing sashimi. In fact all of Chef Koko’s meals were great: fresh, healthy, and tailored to each person’s preferences. Elisha, the stewardess, prepared beautiful table settings for each meal every day, and she was always very attentive making sure we had everything we needed. She was always there to greet us with cool drinks after every excursion. Captain James is an awesome dive master and local expert. I can’t imagine a friendlier, more professional crew. They made the trip so much fun. Thanks to the top notch crew and beautiful, top of the line amenities, this trip definitely ranks as one of our absolute favorites! We’ll definitely sail on SEVEN again!
We had an exceptional week’s experience onboard Sail Cat Seven, exploring the Islands of the BVI. The crew of three consisting of Captain James, Chef Koko and Stewardess Elisha went above and beyond their call in making our trip special. James’ seamanship is exemplary, and his knowledge of the islands meant we had such memorable experiences be it snorkelling, diving, partying to simply enjoying lunch in a scenic bay. Koko produced wonderful food every day that was fresh and healthy, tailoring it to your own personal tastes. Any requests were always welcomed. Elisha was always on hand for whatever we needed, day or night. Her signature cocktails are a must. The boat itself is absolutely stunning. Our accommodation was spacious and comfortable with each cabin having its own on suite. There were wonderful touches throughout the boat that made it feel uniquely special. There are plenty of “sea toys” to have lots of fun with including diving equipment. It certainly rates as one of the best holidays we’ve ever had.
Annie and I had the privilege of joining the fabulous catamaran “Seven” for an unforgettable week in the BVI in November, a Voyage Hybrid 590 that is stunning in every way. The international crew headed by Capt James struck the perfect balance of being attentive and yet also discreet. James knows the islands and their history inside out, Koko the chef works wonders with his 3 creative meals a day, whilst Elisha, the delightful hostess tends to every need from morning coffee on the main deck to after dinner digestif on the flybridge. Meals are paired with a selection of great wines and in ample quantity. We were 4 couples, and this yacht provides the optimum combination of open deck socializing space as well as total privacy in the 4 en-suite air-conditioned rooms. Meals are served al fresco on the rear deck but under the shade. Full diving gear is on board and supervised by Capt James, with snorkeling and kayaking for those less adventurous to enjoy the beautiful clear waters. The carefully planned itinerary allowed us to enjoy everything the BVI has to offer from secluded sandy beaches to delightful local bars. In short, this immaculately presented boat with its charming crew is truly the trip of a lifetime!!
We had the ultimate luxury sailing experience island hopping on the newly built Sail Cat Seven. Visiting the best anchorages from secluded coves to thriving night spots and secret dive sights. Thanks to Captain James’s local knowledge, We shared some unforgettable experiences with friends and family. E-foiling over crystal calm waters, Scuba diving with turtles, snorkeling around the Indians, kayaking to the beaches, catching a 6.5lb Bonefish wading the flats of Anegada and catching Mahi Mahi off the back of the boat. Many bucket list experiences were checked off. The girls painted with watercolors trying to catch the ever-changing views. We enjoyed the evening breeze with a cocktail on the flybridge. The service was outstanding. Every meal was curated from delightful table settings by Stewardess Alisha Rose to flavorful dishes crafted by Chef Koko. These memories will be with us forever, Thank you Lapa side charters, the crew, family and friends on board for this wonderful experience. If you need some inspiration in your life – Just go!
